What to do in Aveyron

Aveyron is a dream destination foroutdoor enthusiasts.

Its rivers will delight canoeists and kayakers alike, thanks in particular to the renowned spots in the Gorges de l’Aveyron and Gorges du Tarn. Fishermen can also enjoy the lake, but are sure to find something to their liking at Lac de Pareloup and Lac de Lévézou.

For hikers, there are numerous walks and via ferrata routes, not to mention mountain bike trails that also make for very pleasant outings.
Finally, for an even more spectacular view, try your hand at paragliding or hang-gliding and take flight from the Causses! Of course, there are plenty of othersporting activities to choose from in Aveyron, so come and discover them all!
Visiting Aveyron with your family? In this case, in addition to sporting activities, let yourself be tempted by a shared velorail ride, a visit to Micropolis, a boat cruise, or a unique boat ride under the Millau Viaduct. Villages and places of interest in Aveyron

Aveyron is the region with the highest number of “Most Beautiful Villages in France”.

Castelnau-Pégayrols, Peyre, Conques… there’s no end of things to see and do in these medieval villages and troglodyte towns. To discover these 10 villages, you’ll need at least two days (preferably 3).

Dedicate a day to the villages of southern Aveyron: the troglodyte town of Peyre (Comprégnac), La Couvertoirade with its fortified enclosure and watchtowers, Brousse-le-Château with its superb castle, Gothic bridge and several remarkable churches (Saint-Cirice, Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur).
The 7 other Aveyron villages belonging to the “Plus Beaux Villages de France ” network lie to the north of Les Genêts camping club. They are grouped around Rodez and its fabulous medieval town, Estaing with its magnificent view of the château and the church of Saint-Fleuret from the stone bridge, and Conques.
You can complete your art and history tour by visiting the 3 villages close to Villefranche: Belcastel and the famous Lourdou Sauveterre-de-Rouergue and Najac with its fortress and other listed historic monuments.
