For vacations with your feet in the water, our campsite at Lac de Pareloup offers beachfront accommodation, with permanent direct access to the lake and its leisure facilities: water games, fishing pontoons, boating clubs. Some of our pitches benefit from an incredible location just a few meters from the water.

Pareloup Wakecamp

The Pareloup Wakecamp base is just a few steps from the campsite, and on some days they’ll even pick you up from the campsite pontoon!

Ok Plongée Nature

An unusual activity is offered by Ok Plongée Nature. With David, you dive underwater to discover the beauty of the aquatic life of Lac de Pareloup. He offers you a baptism every week (high season) in our swimming pool.

By appointment, he can pick you up at the campsite for a dive in the lake or the Gorges du Tarn.

Grimpe et Cimes

Grimpe et Cimes is about 10 minutes from the campsite. This site offers canyoning, tree climbing (several levels) and paintball. An outing for the whole family, where teenagers in particular will be delighted to accompany you!

CYVP

A sailing school just across the lake from the campsite! If you already know how to handle a sailboat, you can rent one from them. Your children could take a summer internship.

The Bannes stables

During the summer, accompanied by a state-qualified instructor, you can take off on horseback for one-, two- or half-day rides (beginner or advanced). What could be more magical than a pony or horse ride in the magnificent natural environment of Lévézou?

Aveyron’s largest lake

Sometimes overshadowed by the famous Gorges du Tarn, Aveyron’s lakes have all the ingredients to delight nature lovers.

From the campsite, it’s a short drive to Lac de Villefranche-de-Panat to the south, Lac de la Gourde, Lac de Bage and Lac de Pont-de-Salars to the north. All these lakes are within a radius of less than 10 km from the campsite.

Although they all have their own charm, you’ll come to the same conclusion at the end of your exploration: Lac de Pareloup is the most beautiful lake in Aveyron. You’ll be seduced by the lake’s contours and shores, impressed by its size (12km²) and delighted to discover all the activities you can do there: fishing, walks and equipment hire at the water sports centres… Seen from the air, the Pareloup reservoir looks like one of those Canadian or New Zealand lakes that invite you to get away from it all.

Fishing at Lac de Pareloup

Covering almost 1,300 hectares, the Lac de Pareloup in Aveyron is well known to fishing enthusiasts. This man-made reservoir, one of the largest in France, is very rich in fish. These include carp, pike, perch, zander, bream, roach and American crayfish, with some specimens weighing over 25 kg.

The lake’s configuration and large size make fishing at Lac de Pareloup accessible to beginners and advanced anglers alike, using a variety of techniques. The deeply indented shores, covering almost 130 km in total, offer a vast choice of spots. The boat launches are suitable for all types of craft, and are located near family-friendly areas. You’ll find picnic areas, restaurants, sanitary facilities, children’s playgrounds, beaches and water sports centers.

Lac de Pareloup is a 2nd category lake. You must have your fishing licence and be familiar with the private areas and regulations before taking part in this activity.

Cycling around the lake

Hiking, fishing, kayaking, swimming, horse-riding… Are you looking for an active vacation during your stay at camping Les Genêts in Aveyron? This is the ideal destination for a family vacation.

Now get on your bike and pedal around Lac de Pareloup! This superb 27 km circuit circles the most beautiful lake in Aveyron, the main attraction of the Lévézou plateau. The difference in altitude is relatively slight (400 m) and it takes around 3 hours to complete this beautiful walk, which is suitable for children and beginners.

You can shorten the circuit by aiming for the Notre-Dame d’Aurès church and the Arvieu beach if you go around the lake from the west, or the Pareloup tourist office if you head east.

On your way, between lake, forest and mountains, you will discover the famous Pareloup dam and the beautiful Gothic church of Canet-de-Salars.
