Vacations<\/strong> in Peyre<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The semi-troglodyte village of Peyre<\/strong> offers visitors an unusual setting<\/strong> and a unique view of the Tarn valley<\/strong> spanned by the Millau Viaduct. Leaning against the cliffs and overlooked by the plateau of the Causse Rouge, the village of Peyre has been awarded the “Most Beautiful Villages in France<\/strong>” label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiking enthusiasts<\/strong> will love the Caselle trail during their vacations: from Compr\u00e9gnac to Peyre, it takes you on a tour of an impressive concentration of typical dry-stone Caussen shepherd’s shelters, known as “caselles”. Along the way, you’ll also come across truffle oaks and pass a viewpoint overlooking the valley and the famous Millau Viaduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the top of this picturesque village, the view over the valley is breathtaking<\/strong>. The site also offers one of the finest views of the Millau Viaduct, just a few kilometers upstream.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>

Itinerary camping Peyre<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The troglodyte village of Peyre<\/strong> is about 10 km from Millau and 40 km from Les Gen\u00eats campsite in Aveyron<\/a> (50 min by car). Take the D577 to Salles-Curan, then the D993 to Saint-Rome-de-Tarn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This charming commune<\/strong> is much appreciated for its medieval town center, turreted dwelling and richly decorated houses. Montjaux is also home to a castle and a beautiful church<\/strong> (Eglise Saint-Quirinus) that are well worth a visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The road between Saint-Rome-de-Tarn and Peyre (Compr\u00e9gnac) follows the course of the Tarn. You can stop off along the way to admire the Tarn valley<\/strong>, stroll around and take some great photos<\/strong> to immortalize your stay at camping club les Gen\u00eats in Aveyron<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
