At the river banks of the Olt (that flows into the Lot further on), the village of Saint-Côme d’Olt is set behind round ramparts. Over the centuries, the town centre has managed to preserve the medieval setting. Three gates offer access to the centre with the castle of Castelnau, from the 13th century and the Pénitents chapel, a former hospice for pilgrims. These two buildings are listed as monuments. The narrow streets are edged with medieval wooden shops and elegant buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries.
